Great Harvest Bread Company is Corvallis' whole grain headquarters.
Some fruits, vegetables, beans and yes, whole grains are "good carbs" that break down slowly and provide substantial infusions of vitamins, minerals, and especially, fiber. Numerous studies have demonstrated that diets rich in fiber can lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. The Surgeon General's goal is for all Americans to consume at least three servings of whole grains daily (right now Americans average about a half of a serving). We can't think of a better way to get your whole grains than our 100% Whole Wheat Great Harvest Breads, made with whole wheat stone-ground fresh every day, right in the bakery! Great Harvest is Corvallis' whole grain headquarters.
Great Harvest came to Corvallis in April of 1998. Travis and Michelle Pindell purchased the bakery in January of 2005. They are the first local owners since it opened. Travis and Michelle have focused on creating a bakery that caters to the Corvallis market, and they are always looking for ways to get involved in the community.

Great service and you have to love being able to sample almost anything before you buy it, especially when it's over $4 for a small loaf of bread. They only have one bread I really enjoy and even though it's good, I don't think it's worth the price. They charge extra for warm, fresh bread when their prices are already ridiculous. But their marionberry scones are delicious, a bit dry, but definitely worth getting!
