While travelling in Europe thirteen years ago, one of the owners of Hawthorne's was overwhelmed by all of the great Irish style cafes and delis and decided they wanted to start their own back in the US. So in 1992, they opened their doors as a family owned deli in the downtown streets of Eugene. They take pride in offering organic coffee, food, homemade baked good, freshly sliced meats and cheese, and many vegetarian soups, salads, and quiches to accommodate for anyone that might find their way in their doors. Hawthorne's also does catering and can make delicious party platters for any special occasions you might have.
Thirsty? Hawthorne's is the place to be! They have everything from organic specialty coffee drinks to wonderful imported beers and wines, great juices and teas as well.
The best thing about this perfect little deli is that you know what you're eating is freshly homemade that day for the best taste and flavor. Just had a turkey sandwich there for lunch on 9/8/2006. It was great. Sure, it's just a turkey sandwich, nothing magical there, but it tasted awesome. And they have Guiness on draught. Good there,
